Insights from this prayer of Baha'u'llah
- God’s “signs … have encompassed the entire creation”;
- The light of God’s “countenance[through His Manifestation].. hath illuminated all that are in heaven and on earth”;
- God’s “mercy … hath surpassed all created things”;
- God’s “grace … hath suffused the whole universe”;
- I need God’s help to “rend asunder the veils that shut me out from” Him;
- When such “veils” are removed I would “hasten unto the Fountain-Head of Thy mighty inspiration, and to the Day-Spring of Thy Revelation and bountiful favors” – thereby recognize God’s latest Manifestation;
- This recognition of God’s latest Manifestation would allow me to “be immersed beneath the ocean of Thy[God’s] nearness and pleasure”.
What happens to a person when he/she recognizes God’s latest Manifestation
- One would need God’s protection “not …to be deprived of the knowledge of” God when His Manifestation comes;
- One needs God’s protection so that he/she wouldn’t become separated from “the robe of Thy[God’s] guidance” that becomes available through His Manifestation;
- By recognizing God’s latest Manifestation one’s soul, through His mercy” would “drink of the river that is life indeed”;
- This “water” comes “from the Paradise (Ridvan) in which” God’s “throne” of His “Name, the All-Merciful, was established”;
- As a result of drinking this “water” one’s:
- “eyes” become “opened”
- “face” becomes “illumined”
- “heart” becomes “assured”
- “soul” becomes “enlightened”
- “steps” become “firm”.
God has power over all things
- From “everlasting” God has been “supreme over all things” “through the potency of His might”;
- From “everlasting” God was able to “ordain all things” “through the operation of His will”;
- “Nothing whatsoever, whether in Thy heaven or on Thy earth, can frustrate Thy purpose”
